Join us online for the next installment of "In Conversation with ¹ÏÌïºÚÁÏScholars," featuring Monika Piazzesi, ¹ÏÌïºÚÁÏSenior Fellow and the Joan Kenny Professor of Economics at Stanford, on Wednesday, July 21 from 3 - 4pm PT.
Monika will be discussing inflation and, in particular, lessons from the past and predictions for the future. She will also explore real estate as a good hedge against inflation and whether some inflation may be a good thing.
This small-group conversation, moderated by ¹ÏÌïºÚÁÏDirector Mark Duggan, will offer participants the opportunity to learn more about Monika's latest research, ask questions, and engage in an open dialogue.
¹ÏÌïºÚÁÏ the Speaker:

Monika Piazzesi is the Joan Kenny Professor of Economics at ¹ÏÌïºÚÁÏ. She is the program director of the NBER Asset Pricing Program, a Fellow of the Academy of Arts and Sciences and the Econometric Society, and a Guggenheim Fellow during 2015-2016. During the years 2006-2014, she was co-editor of the Journal of Political Economy. Prior to joining Stanford, she taught at the University of Chicago and UCLA. She received the Elaine Bennett Research Prize and the Bernazer Price for Research in Macroeconomics and Finance. She holds a diploma in economics from the University of Bonn and a PhD from Stanford. Her research focuses on the interactions between financial markets and the economy. Her work has studied the impact of monetary policy on the term structure of interest rates, booms and busts in housing markets, and the risk exposures of financial institutions.
